Dust-explosivity general.

Specialists with special equipment according to international standards and procedures investigate explosivity. PLOUM Engineering has no facilities for such work and has good experience in out sourcing at Adinex , Herentals, Belgium.

Explosivity investigation dust & powder

  • Explosivity – Screening test A/B, [VDI 2263 Blatt 1] Modified Hartmann apparatus with an energy of approx. 10J (continues spark).
  • Explosivity using a 20 liter- sphere (2kJ) [EN 14034 3 Annex C / VDI 2263, Blatt 1, 2.1.2.] by variation with concentrations of powder.
  • Minimum ignition energy (MIE) using the Modified Hartmann apparatus according to EN 13821. Spark with variable energy content.
  • Minimal ignition temperature of a dust cloud (MIT) using a BAM-oven [VDI 2263, Blatt 1, 2.6]).
  • Minimal ignition temperature of deposited layer of dust (MIT) [EN 50281-2-1]
  • Inflammability class of powders (Ciba-Geigy method) [VDI 2263, Blatt 1, 1.2.5.]
  • Relative self-ignition temperature in a hot air flow (Grewer) [VDI 2263, Blatt 1, 1.4.1.].
  • Lowest explosion level using a 20 liter- sphere (2 kJ) [EN 14034 3 Annex C].
  • Dust explosion characteristics using a 20 liter- sphere (10 kJ) [EN 14034 1-2 Annex C] Max. Explosion pressure and max. pressure rise speed.
  • Limit Oxygen Concentration (LOC) using a 20 liter-sphere (2 kJ) [EN 14034 4 Annex C].
  • Hot storage ignition temperature [EN 15188 or UN classification self-heating solid].
